Your participation  will make a huge difference in the lives of a number of teenage and other at-risk mothers to be, within the highly underserved area of our community encompassing the 89030, 89101, 89106 and 89115 zip codes. Many of these women, literally babies themselves, have no place to turn to during their pregnancy either as a result of little or no immediate family support or an abusive relationship. Since 1993 over 6,000 young mothers have benefited from the Foundation’s free services and programs. 

Our goal and commitment is to reduce the disproportionately high infant mortality rate, occurrence of low birth weight babies born in this community and to ensure the infants’ health throughout their first critical year of life. The impact of our goal is to eliminate as much hospital care cost for premature infants through appropriate prenatal care: a cost, which can exceed $250,000 per infant.

Now more than ever we need your support for our work as increased demands for social services’ funds and the continuing effects of Katrina relief efforts have affected the source of governmental funds. We need to draw more from the private sector of our community to offset these significant cut backs in public funding.
